How much does stump grinding cost?
The size and number of stumps, exposed roots, site access and cleanup requirements affect the quote. Send photos and a property ZIP code so we can discuss the scope with you. An on-site assessment may be needed.
What is the difference between grinding and removing a stump?
Grinding breaks down the stump in place. Excavation removes the stump and root ball from the ground and involves a different scope of work. Tell us how you plan to use the space so we can discuss the right approach.
Can you reach a stump behind a fence?
Access depends on gate width, slopes, obstacles and the equipment needed for your job. Measure the narrowest opening and send a photo of the route to the stump before scheduling.
What happens to the wood chips?
Grinding produces wood chips and leaves an area that may need backfill and settling. Confirm chip handling, cleanup and any backfill work in your quote before the job begins.
Can I plant grass afterward?
The area typically needs suitable soil preparation after grinding. Discuss chip removal, backfill and settling before seeding or laying sod. Planting another tree in the same spot may require additional preparation.
What about utilities or irrigation?
We take care of the 811 call for you. Before stump removal, Arbor Grind contacts 811 to request utility marking and coordinates that step as part of preparing for your job—so you don’t have to arrange it yourself. Have irrigation, landscape lighting or other private underground lines? Let us know, and we’ll discuss any separate locating needed before work begins.
How deep will you grind?
The needed depth depends on the stump and your plans for the area. Confirm the target depth, surface-root work and any limitations in the written scope.
Can you handle more than one stump?
Yes, you can request a quote for multiple stumps. Photograph each one and share approximate sizes and their locations on the property so the entire job can be assessed.
